This workshop provides an introduction to computational approaches for studying online discourse using Communalytic, a research platform designed to collect and analyze social media data. Participants will engage with two key methodological areas.

• Topic Analysis - An introduction on how to use multilingual embeddings to discover and interpret latent themes in large-scale conversation datasets. 

• Social Network Analysis -  An introduction to SNA and how to use it to map and examine patterns of interaction, influence, and information diffusion within communication and link-sharing networks. No prior technical background is required.
